Western Center for the Conservation of Fine Arts
WCCFA has been providing art conservation services to the public and private sectors for over 35 years.
Our clients include numerous museums, galleries and other public institutions, as well artists, private clients and corporations throughout the country.
We are committed to a total care and preventive conservation approach. We offer public lectures, seminars, and workshops focusing on proper care, handling, storage, and examination techniques, with the intention to educate the public and museum professionals about the field of art conservation as well as the great benefits of minimizing damage and deterioration to their artworks.
Our Facilities & Our Studio
Julianna Ly, Assistant Conservator of Paintings removing grime off of Marie L. Woodson’s There is no frigate like a Book to take us lands away, 1910, oil on canvas. This painting is an original work owned and commissioned by Denver’s City and County.
WCCFA is monitored 24 hours a day for fire and theft and carries the highest Underwriters’ Laboratory Rating. The studio features a central exhaust air system which provides a contaminant and dirt-free, climate-controlled environment.
Color-balanced fluorescent lights with low ultraviolet emission and double-laminated UV filtering windows control light exposure.
